Tank looks better today after running the filter all last night. Not so much latrine-y-ness, a lot more clarity. Even with the small cut-out in the back for the filter/heater Colorado still likes to say "Hey! It's dry out here...let's get some hot evaporative action going on!" Not much, but enough that I can notice it, since I placed the thermometer top at the water level and now the level is below the top of the thermometer. More pics as it clears up.
Got a card in the mail from the vet who saw Peach, my very first rat, at the emergency room when we let her go. It was very sweet and I thank VCA Alameda East a lot for that! It was hard losing her, especially when she had just gone through surgery a week prior for the removal of a mammary mass. Wasn't expecting to lose her when I just banked so much on keeping her around. Well, here's to you, Peach. Hope there are lots of grapes and broccoli in rattie heaven!
